The response to my @TableauPublic map of Kyoto's cherry blossom sites has been overwhelming! Thank you so much!🙏
Just some random thoughts on how it (accidentally) came together... layer by layer.

For a recent map I designed - after an unhelpful Google search - I figured out a way to extract just the internal border lines (no coastlines) in @QGIS...
...which I think resulted in a cleaner map in @TableauPublic
Here's my 20th #RandomQGIStoTableauStuff / #RQTS thread:
Hey #DataFam, here's a quick post on how you can create a circular map in @TableauPublic, using a circle drawn in @QGIS.
Basic steps:
1. Draw/create circle map layer
2. Clip your desired geographies to the circle
3. Create your map

Do your readers know what/where you're mapping? Adding a small locator map can help to provide some geographic context.
But in @TableauPublic, it is challenging to scale maps accurately... One option is to draw a shape in @QGIS...
This is #RandomQGIStoTableauStuff #17! 😁
For #RandomQGIStoTableauStuff No. 13, let's take a look at:
CARTOGRAMS... maps that distort/resize geographic features based on a measure. Great examples at @worldmapper.
With the "cartogram3" plugin in @QGIS, it's quite simple to create them & then visualize in @TableauPublic.
