Social media runs on an implicit contract: I write something, you follow me, you read it, and you trust it came from a human mind.
AI writing is currently breaking that contract. Feeds are filling up with automated replies from growth automation tools and agents.
But we believe AI can make us better writers. That it can make our thinking clearer, improve our writing, and help millions of people share their ideas with the world that currently aren’t.
That's the future we’re building for and below are the principles and beliefs that guide us.
Most people don't struggle with having ideas. They struggle with communicating them clearly. That gap is what separates forgettable posts from ones people actually remember. Our focus is using AI to help you turn your thinking into stronger writing, while keeping you thinking.
AI makes it easy to generate a post and hit publish without ever writing. But the craft is figuring out what you really mean and finding the words to make someone else see it too. We'll build tools that make it easier to capture your thoughts and arrange them into something worth sharing, but we'll never build tools that replace it.
The default use of AI is to produce more. We believe the opportunity is to produce something better. A great editor understands how a writer thinks, helps sharpen their arguments, and tighten sentences. That kind of partnership used to be reserved for the few. We're building AI that knows you and drafts like a great editor, not a ghostwriter that just increases your output.
The printing press gave us Hemingway and junk mail.
The blog gave us citizen journalism and clickbait.
AI and agents are no different. They'll work with us like assistants and editors. They'll capture our ideas, help us collaborate, and manage the work around writing so that we can focus on the craft.
But they'll also be misused for reply bots and automations. That's the junk mail of our era, and we'll actively work to prevent it.
These principles and beliefs guide how we think about building the future of writing. AI will keep getting more capable. The question was never whether we'd use it, but whether we'd use it well. Our commitment is to help writers use it well. That means tools that elevate the craft of writing, not replace the writer.
