I’d never experienced true music fandom until a friend sent me the track “Hi Ren” by @Renmakesmusic on New Years Eve. I couldn’t get enough. Played it on repeat for hours...
Ren’s music feels like a drug. Every song is so different and deeply moving. His range is unreal. Regaee, Pop, Rock, Hip Hop, Jazz and just about everything else. He does it all. Any song he covers he miraculously makes entirely his own.
There’s no song he’s made I don’t enthusiastically enjoy. They all offer something different with several unexpected elements.
The passionate love affair he has with music resonates in the vibrations of his performance. His lyrics are powerful and storytelling abilities otherworldly. It’s almost like an auditory Broadway show. I wish his songs were transformed into a live play.

His low budget music videos are the highest production quality I’ve experienced. Even old school MTV wouldn’t come close to the brilliant videos he and his cinematographer friend Samuel Perry-Falvey shoot and edit.
He produces his music all on his own without a label. I saw somewhere that about 10 years ago he was shortly signed to Sony but they dropped him because he suffers from Lyme disease. I didn’t even know what ME was until I dove into his rabbit hole.
His music teaches me empathy and courage. His talent inspires me to embrace my own creativity. To further believe in my dreams. I listen to his music and enter this meditative engaged world where anything is possible. And his fanbase seems to be a loving kind community.
Whenever I listen and listen again I feel seen. Like I’m no longer riding this life journey alone.
As a creative strumming my path to a different tune, as scary as it is, like these open “unusual” posts on social media, to trust the right people will be attracted to my work and in end it will all makes sense.
