I’m an “artist of human connection”. This means people and atmosphere are my paint and venues are my canvas.
When I create my art I feel tapped into another power that has nothing to do with commercialism, capitalism or ego. It’s has to do with service. Creating a unique life changing memory, fostering an energy that is unlike anything any attendee will experience elsewhere is powerful.
I’ve painted well over 400 events now. These beautiful impactful life changing moments guests will forever cherish.
This week is Frieze an immersion into the world of art and it’s culture. Someone suggested I do an artist residency. Never knew that was a possibility for me. They said what I create is called “Relational Asthetics”. I had never heard of this term.
So often I feel confused by my craft, my need to jump without looking even if it may hurt me giving all of my being to others leaving little to none for myself.
When I saw my favorite musician Ren’s post yesterday (@renmakesmusic) about his WHY creating art without needing society’s stamp of approval it brought me calm to see that I’m not alone.
