Hoy día se habla mucho de los soft skills pero la verdad es que desconocemos muchos de estos.

Muchos de nosotros hemos cometido el siguiente error en una entrevista: «Una de mis fortalezas es que tengo pensamiento crítico» o «Tengo buenas habilidades de comunicación»
Realmente desconocemos lo que comprende cada una de esas áreas, solo para darte un dato, cada softskill se subdivide entre 10 a 50 sub-categorías.

Aquí les quiero hablar de esas soft skills que son necesarias para cualquier profesional que esta comenzando en el desarrollo de software y de tecnología en general.
Vamos a empezar con comunicación.
– Communication
• Listening
De las más importantes que puedes tener. Con esta habilidad tienes más probabilidades de entender las tareas y los proyectos, establecer relaciones sólidas con compañeros de trabajo y ser capaces de resolver problemas/conflictos.
• Negotiation
En las negociaciones, a veces es posible lograr un acuerdo que beneficie a ambas partes, pero generalmente una de ellas (la que tiene menos influencia) tendrá que hacer concesiones. pero ¿hasta qué punto puede llegar a ceder? ahí está el truco.
– Pensamiento critico:
• Logical Thinking
Observan, analizan y sacan conclusiones de los fenómenos, las reacciones y las relaciones. Justifican sus estrategias, acciones y decisiones a partir de los hechos que recogen.
• Tolerance of change and uncertainty
Algo de lo que podemos estar seguros en esta industria es que cambia muy rápido, por esa razón saber redirigir tus esfuerzos constantemente a diferentes áreas cuando estas comenzando y no frustrarte en el proceso es importantísimo.
– Leadership
• Conflict resolution
Las personas con capacidad de resolución de conflictos son valiosas en muchos trabajos, ya que los conflictos pueden provocar una reducción de la productividad y una elevada rotación de personal.
• Motivating
Las habilidades de motivación son importantes para los empleados que buscan ascensos o para los que quieren destacar en el lugar de trabajo; también es crucial para los directivos que desean inspirar a un equipo.
– Positive Attitude
• Honesty
Ser directo, veraz y sincero en todo lo que dices o haces. La persona que es "honesta" no trata de engañar a los demás con mentiras y engaños. Siempre intenta decir la verdad, independientemente de sus consecuencias.
– Teamwork
• Emotional Intelligence
Es la capacidad de un individuo para comprender sus propias emociones, así como las de los demás, y utilizar esa información para responder y gestionar las emociones.
• Collaboration
Incluyen la comprensión de una variedad de perspectivas, la gestión de las prioridades de todos los miembros del grupo y el cumplimiento de las expectativas como miembro fiable de un equipo.
– Work Ethic
• Multitasking
Para satisfacer las demandas de varias partes interesadas diferentes sin sacrificar la calidad de tu trabajo, tienes que ser capaz de dividir tu atención entre las diferentes tareas.
• Time management
La capacidad de trabajar de forma eficiente y de ser consciente del tiempo disponible durante cada una de las actividades de su agenda diaria puede ahorrarte muchos dolores de cabeza.

Recuerden que todas estas soft skills requieren de otras, están relacionadas en mayor o menor medida, lo importante es saber darles prioridad y ser conscientes de cuales estás desarrollando y el motivo por el cuál las estas desarrollando.
