Typefully is fantastic and way too cheap for what you get.
We’ve tried many alternatives at @framer but nothing beats it. If you’re still tweeting from Twitter you’re wasting time.

Blink @blinkbtc is an easy-to-use custodial #Bitcoin Lightning wallet to onboard new users to Bitcoin.
What features does Blink have and why should you consider having it as your go-to Lightning wallet for "pocket money"? 👇
🧵
1/27
Blink was formerly known as Bitcoin Beach Wallet, but with a more global focus, it rebranded to Blink in 2023.
2/27
The open-source Bitcoin Beach Wallet was created by a software company Galoy @GaloyMoney as a community banking solution for the merchants and community members of El Zonte in El Salvador.
3/27
As a custodial wallet, Blink is a great onboarding tool for Bitcoin newbies.
You only need to provide a phone number or email to start using the wallet.
You can even receive some BTC with a "trial account" (without providing phone number or email).
4/27
Blink supports both BTC and US dollar balances with its "Stablesats" feature (synthetic US dollars on the Lightning Network).
This can help to protect against Bitcoin's exchange rate volatility.
Learn more about Stablesats here:
twitter.com/teemupleb/status/1582073492069285888
5/27
You can convert between the BTC balance and the dollar balance by clicking "Convert" (Android), or by sending to your own Blink username (iPhone).
6/27
You can also receive Stablesats dollars to your wallet.
The sender can be sending you bitcoin while having no idea that you're using the Blink wallet to store a dollar-denominated balance.
You can specify in the settings whether you want to accept BTC or USD by default.
7/27
You can also have your balance displayed in many other fiat currencies.
However, the Stablesats feature is only in dollars.
8/27
Your Blink username serves as your Lightning address to which any Lightning user can send BTC without you first generating an invoice.
Lightning addresses look like email addresses, e.g. teemupleb.blink.sv
9/27
If you're sending from a Blink wallet to another Blink user's wallet, you can just type the username (e.g. teemupleb) and the funds will find their way to the recipient.
Transactions between Blink users don't have any fees.
10/27
Sending to another Lightning wallet, Blink only charges a routing fee (~0.02%).
Receiving payments on Lightning never incurs fees.
Stablesats conversion costs you a 0.2% spread, without additional fees.
11/27
You can also receive on-chain deposits to Blink, but a deposit amount below 1 million sats will incur a fixed 5,000 sats fee.
Deposits larger than 1 million sats are without fees.
12/27
On-chain withdrawals are not recommended because the fees are very high: 10,000 sats fixed fee + mining fees
13/27
If you go to Settings and "Ways to get paid", you will find an option to open up a link to a point of sale app on the browser.
This is useful for merchants with employees.
They can open the receive-only POS app with any device and the funds go to the merchant's wallet.
14/27
You can also generate a static paycode QR code:
When customers, donors etc. scan the QR code, they can specify the amount themselves.
Great for market vendors, street performers, food trucks etc.
You don't want to create an invoice while you're preparing a meal!
15/27
Blink has a map helping you to find businesses that accept bitcoin.
You can also pay businesses directly on the map.
16/27
To educate new users about Bitcoin, Blink also has an "Earn" section where you can learn about Bitcoin and earn small amounts of sats.
17/27
Blink users in El Salvador can buy and sell bitcoin within the app through bank transfers.
18/27
Blink Circles is a feature to incentivize Blink wallet adoption.
If you send BTC from your Blink wallet to a brand new Blink user's wallet, this new user becomes part of your "inner circle".
19/27
If your "inner circle" members onboard more new users, those new users become your "outer circle".
Users who onboard new circle members actively can win prizes.
20/27
Downsides of using Blink are the transaction limits that Bitcoin wallets normally don't have.
Receiving payments is unlimited, but e.g. to send/withdraw my limits as a casual user are set to $999 per day.
With KYC, you can increase the limits.
21/27
As a custodial wallet, Blink is not censorship-resistant, and since you have to login with a phone number or email, there is a potential privacy trade-off since your contact info will reside in a database possibly attached to your wallet balance.
22/27
Blink is not available in the United States.
Blink has also blocked access to its website if you're using a VPN (at least IVPN).
23/27
Overall, Blink is a good beginner-friendly Lightning wallet and a great onboarding tool.
Even if you generally prefer using self-custodial Lightning wallets, you can with good conscience load up a Blink wallet with $100 while preparing for your trip to El Salvador.
24/27
But since the funds are not in your control, a good rule of thumb for a sovereign Bitcoiner regarding all custodial wallets could be to avoid using them with balances of over 1 million satoshis (0.01 BTC or $558 as of Feb '24).
25/27
Here's a comprehensive video tutorial of Blink by @BTCsessions:
26/27
Finally, a presentation by @agbegin from Galoy and Blink from the @AdoptingBTC conference in El Salvador in November 2023:
27/27
If you found value in this thread, feel free to send me some sats!
Just scan the paycode from your Lightning wallet!
