“Beginning in 2024, employees automatically enrolled in 401(k)s and 403(b)s unless opt out. Initial automatic contributions would be between 3% and 10% of pretax earnings, and amount would be increased by 1% each year until 10%.”
This should always have been the default.
Wish employers could also match college loan payments tax free. (Although that would probably just increase tuition costs).
We enabled “enroll by default” years ago thanks to a push by my colleague Jeff and saw enrollment go from 30% to 95% overnight.
