17 daily habits I cultivate that give me long-lasting creative energy that's 10x better than coffee:
Here's my assertion: No Rest? No Energy. Your relationship with Rest is the bedrock of your personal brand.
It defines the energy you put out and attract.
It determines how healthy, sane, hygienic, and stable you are.
Like attracts like.
But here's the thing with Rest...
It's not easy to prioritize Rest if you haven't before. We're creatures of habit.
This affects how you show up as a leader, an entrepreneur, and a creator.
Because it can depreciate your ingenuity over time.
Some will call it fate and do nothing. They're asleep.
But not you.
You no longer want to walk around like a zombie, unaware of your tendency to mimic others, and seek validation for your existence.
The masses are toxic zombies.
But not you.
You know you're alive.
You have a sense of yourself.
So let's lay the foundation to grow from here.
1/ Praying
This is the backbone of spiritual practice.
Whatever you worship or "believe in" is going to determine how you pray (seek help, assistance, wish, hope, set confidence or trust in).
When you have nothing... you have prayer.
Prayer is better than sleep. It's belief.
2/ Minimizing Sleep Debt
The modern youth lifestyle idealizes a life that never sleeps.
Yet sleep IS the fountain of youth.
Your body needs time in the unconscious to repair and rejuvenate your cells.
Without it, you're taking energy from your future to waste today.
3/ Journaling
Writing is a gift you give to others.
But journaling is a gift you give to yourself.
Start now and take up a notebook around your goals:
- desire
- gratitude
- shadow work
- habit formation
- spiritual practice
- fitness and nutrition
- dream interpretation, etc
4/ Breathwork
This is controlling and yoking your life force
Simply take a minute or 10 to breathe in deeply until your stomach and lungs are filled with air.
Then breathe out.
You will feel light-headed and generally calmer and ready to take on the day.
5/ Vigorous Movement
If you don't want to experience stagnation in life (a state that invites disease, rot, and ruin), then you will have to move your ass.
Yes. Move it.
Walk, Run, Skip, Dance, Lift weights, Stretch, Pilates, Yoga, I really don't give af.
Just do it. Be sexy.
6/ -Care
This is the equivalent of any kind of "care."
Skincare
Haircare
Eye-care
Bodycare
Scalp-care
Mouth-care
Crease-care
Sexual organ-care
Nail/Cuticle-care
This is not just about basic personal hygiene. It's about elevating how you treat your temple to harness energy.
7/ Nutrition and Hydration
Water is life. Food is fuel.
Screw supplements.
Get your greens, proteins, ancient grains, fruits, and anti-inflammatory and gut-healthy foods.
You'll go from always hungry to satiated.
Also, take your damn time. When you eat, just enjoy.
8/ Daily Showers/Bathing
You want people to like you?
This is the easiest way to clean off sweat, gunk, pollutants, parasitical energy that might get on you as you go throughout your day.
Plus, it's good hygiene.
Look clean. Smell good. A personal brand bare minimum.
9/ Romanticizing
Aesthetics are important.
So spend time sprucing something up for own gaze.
Make it an event.
Make it something special.
Make it about your unfolding identity.
Oh yeah, and boys romanticize too. Eggs in your fridge, new suit selfies, gym gains. We see you.
10/ Visioning
We all want things. But how much time do we spend thinking about our life changing and what we need to get rid of as a result?
You can spend <5min imagining yourself doing new habits or using new items. The basis of a new persona.
This is fuel for my creativity.
11/ Stillness
This is not just about sitting still or about not thinking.
This is about using every action as mediation and prayer.
This is about emptying yourself so that you're a vessel for dynamic energy to flow through you.
When you're in tune, all is effortless.
12/ Concentration
Bruce Lee once said, "Concentration is the root of all the higher abilities in man... One great cause of failure is lack of concentration."
It builds awareness and gratitude for life by focusing on ONE thing at a time.
Quit leaking energy. Be here now.
13/ Expression
You are an emotional creature. Period.
You never want to bury your emotions. It's self-harm.
Everyday, take a moment to just check in with yourself. Your feelings. Your desires. Your urges.
Then consciously create positive from it.
Do it or be diseased later.
14/ Reading an ACTUAL Book
Most people don't read books outside of school and it's a damn shame.
As people get stupider, pick up a book of your interest.
Reading 1 page leads to 10 pages. Then 100.
Within a week or two you'll finish it and be smarter for it too.
15/ Cleaning & Interior Elevation
Having a cleaning schedule is a game changer.
- Doing regular deep cleanses
- Organizational aesthetics
- Nurturing all the plants
- Investing in decor
Doing this renews your space and allows pure energy to flow in.
16/ Being In Your Home Chef Era
We know you can cook and meal-prep.
But are you elevating your experience?
It's a great tactile creative activity to balance out online consumption.
- Try new recipes
- Cook for 2-4 people
- Snap a pic
- Freeze leftovers in bento boxes
- Repeat
17/ Conscious Inspiration
The best inspiration comes when you're not looking for it.
Take time out of your day to immerse yourself in stuff no one else knows of.
Then do nothing and expect nothing.
Your mind will magically come up with original ideas no one's seen before.
A combination of these habits allows me to zone in, listen to my body, make intuitive changes, and enjoy life because I'm Rested and f*cking glorious. I don't care what some of you dirty jittery asses have to say.
