Sometimes ripping off the band-aid is the best solution, so here goes! Today is my last day as a full-time employee of @MyBFF... read on for some closing thoughts. 🧵

2/18 This thread is challenging but important to write. 🚀 My journey into the belly of web3 via BFF 👩‍💼 Team dynamics and the significance of diversity 🔜 Where I'm going next

3/18 I know that reading this might be confusing or surprising for a lot of you, and you'll rightfully have some questions. I understand your frustration. 💖 tl;dr - I am moving on from my time at BFF and looking forward to new adventures!

4/18 🚀 While my journey into web3 didn't begin with BFF, my entry to building a scalable, healthy, thriving community in web3 was born when I learned of BFF. I put myself behind this brand because of its intentional push for diversity and inclusion on the blockchain.

5/18 Entering a new community in its infancy can be scary, especially for diverse individuals; you never know if the members will accept you for who you are. I quickly realized the best way to be visible is to be vocal and share knowledge with those who were hungry to listen.

6/18 On 2/6, I was one of the first to become a moderator, recognized by @Majestique_eth for my talents in helping others through kindness, openness, and shared values with the BFF ethos.

7/18 A month later, my contributions were recognized by becoming part of the team as a contractor in the role of Community Coordinator. I'm very thankful to have been given the opportunity of a lifetime to work with such a wealth of talent on the BFF team.

8/18 My first day in the full-time role of Community Inclusion Coordinator was actually during NFT NYC, where I was a speaker representing BFF on three separate panel discussions and met so many outstanding community members and founders in the space.

9/18 I didn't expect to have so much fun working for a startup. I will say that this work is exhilarating, and I truly learned so much by jumping in and figuring things out.

10/18 👩‍💼 The reason I felt comfortable joining the @MyBFF team was that I saw a unique opportunity to embark on a journey to bring diversity to a group of already accomplished builders in web3. Working at BFF has allowed me the privilege to affect real change in web3!

11/18 The Belonging and Mattering Council rollout was a critical point in the BFF life cycle because I, in particular, continue to see the impact in the space made by diverse individuals who are typically underserved and undervalued. I will continue to spend time on the BMC.

12/18 I will be candid and say that I would not be where I am today without astronomical support from one of the best Community Managers @renae_eth who stuck by me and believed in me no matter what we were going through. Renae, you are a freakin magnificent woman!

13/18 The tears, the joy, the excitement, the challenges, none of this journey would be the same without having @Majestique_eth by my side. It is important to find your people in this space, and Christine is, without a doubt, my BFF. I love you!

14/18 Two founders I admire, @brit and @jaimeschmidt, allowed me to join a company that empowered me to do neat and innovative things in web3. I am so grateful to have learned from them and shared the experience of creating a community with two brilliant businesswomen.

15/18 I am so grateful to the most fantastic team of moderators whom I am privileged to have served alongside, mentored, and led into a space of love, kindness, and a lot of long hours on Discord.

16/18 I'm not going to get into why I've left - not here or privately, please don't ask - I will not respond to you. I have no hard feelings for BFF and still very much support their efforts being made to onboard more women and non-binary friends into web3.

17/18 🔜 So what's next? Pretty standard stuff for the next two weeks or so. I'll take inventory of all I've done since January, get everything in order, and take a much-needed, much-deserved break away.

18/18 Yes, I am open to hearing about new roles, but please understand it will take some time to return your messages, and I may miss some of them. I'll have a better idea of the roles I'm looking for and the work I'm interested in soon. 🤝🧵
