Being an artist is mastering the art of failure.
We often go through cycles of self doubt and feeling like a fraud.
Until something "clicks" and we get inspired.
Good news: you're not alone.
Bad news: that feeling never goes away...
BUT
๐๐๐
You can develop a positive relationship with this cycle.
I've seen some of the most accomplished musicians I know, terrified about not being able to produce good work anymore.
But they all have one thing in common.
๐ก๐ก๐ก
Showing up.
Every day ๐
By doing this, you're acknowledging that you're not in control of the results.
The only thing you can do is simply being available to receive inspiration.
And sometimes showing up means literally staring at a blank page for an hour.
Creativity is an exploratory endeavor, not a straight line.
So we have to understand that our brain needs time and energy to invest in seemingly unproductive efforts.
Be kind to yourself. Don't treat yourself like a factory.
Realizing that I'm only responsible for the process, has been very liberating for me.
Give it a try for a week.
Set aside some time and let your mind go astray.
The worst that could happen is that you end up having a good time, doing what you love for a whole week.
