Are you a 1/1 artist?
You probably suck at community building; maybe even jealous of PFP projects.
1/n is a shortcut to community that doesn't require you to become a "pfp sellout":
One-of-one artists don't have 1000s of unique NFTs with a community revolving around their project(s).
One-of-one collectors don't have 1000s of people incentivised to introduce others to what they own.
The exception is what we at @nounsdao like to call: permissionless collabs.
You see, creating 10k unique variations of something yourself isn't necessary.
CC0 is a community cheat code, where you unlock access to thousands of people already proliferating a meme.
1/n makes you part of a wider collection by default, eg:

Constraints breed creativity, so long as they're not restrictive and Nouns DAO was created with this in mind.
Think of Nouns as a protocol, that you build on top of, intentionally made in low fidelity โ 32 x 32 pixels to be exact.
The talented @brandonmighty understands this:
Some say "โโจ-โจ" are the "nike swoosh of web3."
Except they're in the public domain, free to exploit for profit, however you see fit.
They've even been depicted as keys, like that one I already mentioned for unlocking access to an existing community.

Understandably, many artists are put off by the idea of creating a PFP collection and even consider it degrading.
Not only that, but building a community, moderating a Discord server, and dealing with the emotions of "wen roadmap", "wat utility" and "sweep floor" are exhausting.
But as an artist trying to crack into the NFT market, you're probably like:
"wen sales" ...am I right?
All this talk about 100 ETH moon birbs and yacht clubs and everything else.
"what the f**k" ...RIGHT?
At @nounsdao we want to see more artists experimenting with our assets, our community, our protocol.
We want to inspire.
But more than anything we want to help, by funding you with some ETH from @nounsgrants or @nounsprophouse.
Just like @gnars_dao was for @nounsathletes ๐ค
