🚀 Yesterday we launched typefully.app, a write-only interface for Twitter. It has been our most successful launch ever, even surpassing @mailbrew’s launch. Here are some insights and learnings. Thread 🧵
The most interesting numbers: 🌎 16,400 Pageviews 👥 1,432 Signups ✍️ 1,843 Drafts Created 🐥 256 Threads Published
📈 Traffic breakdown: - Hacker News: 6.3k - Twitter: 2.1k - ProductHunt: 1.9k All tracked respecting your privacy with @PlausibleHQ.
🏆 We finally managed to hit the HN frontpage. The perfect formula was: 1/ interesting product 2/ no-bullshit title 3/ sparking an interesting/controversial discussion in the comments news.ycombinator.com/item?id=25358108
Servers did hold up without a sweat. It's crazy what you can do these days with a couple of well-configured dynos on Heroku and a Django app 🤯 We peaked at 8 RPS when we hit the HN frontpage.
🏛 Finally a bit of history. Typefully was born as @linuz90's personal side-project. I jumped in to make the editor crazy-fast, and wrote the server-side code. @meseali helped us redefine positioning and copy, making it an official @mailbrew-team project 💌
Plans for the future? Implement all the great ideas you suggested. First one is image support, which is why I am not tweeting this from Typefully in the first place 😂 What would you like to see us build into @typefullyapp?
