I recently did an exercise to see what I wanted to spend my time on. Use this process to budget your time too.

Step 1. Make a list of priorities and things you have to do personally and professionally. Include things like sleep, feeding, exercise, meetings. Be detailed, but not so granular that the list is overwhelming.
Step 2. Next to each Item, estimate the amount of time you think each task will take to complete.
Step 3. Based on your week, decide which days you would like to perform each activity. Want to record a video or two for YouTube, perhaps Tuesday's are great because you have the house to yourself.
Step 4. We have 168 hours (7x24hours). Add up all the time it takes to complete your activities per day, and then over a week. How many hours do you have left over?
Step 5. As you execute on your planned schedule, adjust estimated times to be more accurate. If you took longer than expected to record the videos for YouTube, give yourself more time next week.
Step 6. At the end of the week. Assess what you were able to get done using this process. It's ok if everything didn't get done. Review priorities, adjust and test again next week.
Step 7. Bonus tip, add each activity to your Calendar, effectively blocking off time for each thing. This way you are reminded and can't forget the things you need to do.
Why is this important? Often people are putting off or being distracted. So the things they want to achieve vanish into the future, or don't happen at all. Dreams can only become reality if you work towards them. Happy planning.
