Mistakes people make when trying to grow their email list
A 🧵. #tweet100
1/ Don't expect it to grow quickly
An email list, like many other forms of content publishing, needs time to grow. Even with advertising and a great landing page, it will take time to get into a flow of creating content, writing regularly and allowing people to discover you.
2/ You don't need to be a great writer to email your list
Speaking of writing, good copy does matter, but all great writers started at the same point as you and I. Success is a slow, iterative process, which may take years to achieve.
3/ The best way to learn is to publish, hit send, and make changes based on feedback. Use stories to connect with your audience. Choose a starting point to share your experiences with your audience. You get more comfortable. Allow time to be your teacher.
4/ Technology is not hard to use
The excuse that Technology is hard to use is BS. Perhaps it's it's some people's way of saying they are lazy to learn new things. Turns out, technology is becoming easier and easier to use. And as new tech is developed, people also adapt.
5/ Email marketing tools are becoming more and more easy to understand, cheaper to use and a ton of resources are available to learn any new skill through online courses, Youtube, LinkedIn Learning and Skillshare.
6/ Learning a new skill, being patient with yourself and your audience are important to build any business. Play to your strengths, learn new things and keep testing. That's the name of the game.
