The “Global Self-Healthcare Education and Research” Trust is a non-profit organization founded to promote and preserve health through an Upstream health concept. The focus is on an Upstream Health Model for health improvement in human populations.
Given the emerging health challenges, GSHER is committed to closing the gap between curative and preventive care and achieving a balance.
GSHER was established to empower individuals and communities to address the growing global burden of noncommunicable illnesses caused by rapid urbanisation, ongoing environmental changes, and society's increased reliance on curative treatment.
Apart from doctors and paramedics, GSHER is committed to bringing forth a new group of health professionals responsible for keeping individuals and society healthy and disease-free.
It intends to establish an Institute of Medical Wellness & Research that will produce a new cadre of healthcare professionals.
GSHER is dedicated to shifting the current healthcare paradigm from one of reliance on others to one of self-care, in which the individual takes responsibility for his or her own health.
GSHER will work to promote self-healthcare in schools, colleges, corporations, and government agencies worldwide, from urban to rural communities, and from literate to illiterate people.
