Unlearning is harder than learning, but it’s absolutely crucial for growth.
Here are 5 instances where I had to unlearn:
1. Unlearned Perfection:
Early in my career, I believed everything had to be perfect before I could act.
I learned that getting things done is better than getting things perfect. Action over perfection leads to progress.
2. Unlearned The Ego:
I used to think asking for help was a sign of weakness. But in reality, no one succeeds alone.
Unlearning this ego trip taught me the value of collaboration and humility.
3. Unlearned Conventional Paths:
Success was once synonymous with traditional paths for me.
Breaking out of this mindset allowed me to pursue uncharted territories and find my true passion.
4. Unlearned Speed Over Quality:
I thought speed was the ultimate goal.
Unlearning this taught me that quality, though time-consuming, always wins in the long run. It's about working smart, not just fast.
5. Unlearned Fear of Failure:
Failure used to be my biggest fear.
I had to unlearn this by embracing failure as a valuable teacher. Each failure brought me closer to success.
Unlearning is a continuous process. What’s one thing you’ve had to unlearn in life?
