People like how "peace" sounds. It's a platitude. Here's why. Russia has chosen to deny us peace. That doesn't mean anyone wants war. No one wished for Russia to invade.

Everyone wants Russia to go home. Russia could do so right now. Russia could end the war at any moment. It has the power to bring peace.
Stop portraying the victim of the past agreements' failures as the problem. If you're suggesting more talks, show us how it's any different from past failures.
Past Agreements
📌 1945 UN Charter: Russia defied international law by seizing Ukrainian territories, sponsoring separatist movements and referendums at gunpoint, recognizing their "independence," deploying its military, and attempting to annex them.
📌 1970 Declaration on Principles of International Law
Every state has a duty to refrain from participating or assisting in acts of civil strife or terrorism in another state.
The agreement says: “Every State has the duty to refrain from organizing, instigating, assisting or participating in acts of civil strife or terrorist acts in another State or acquiescing in organized activities within its territory directed towards the commission of such acts.”
📌1994 Budapest Memorandum.
Russia has repeatedly violated the 1994 Budapest Memorandum since the first violation in 2014. Under the Memorandum, Ukraine gave up its nuclear arms in exchange for reassurances from Russia, among other countries, that its borders would be respected.
📌 Russia signed the “Founding Act on Mutual Relations, Cooperation, and Security between NATO and the Russian Federation” in 1997
In the agreement, Russia promised “respect for sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of all states and their inherent right to CHOOSE THE MEANS TO ENSURE THEIR OWN SECURITY.”
📌 Minsk 1 & 2: Russia's broken promises
In 2017, researchers confirmed what many had suspected all along: the ongoing violence in Ukraine was due to Russian interference. Without Moscow's troops, financing, and weapons, there would be no war.
Russia can bring peace by leaving.
But if Ukrainians don't fight, they may cease to exist.
📌 Advocating for Ukraine to "settle" for peace? Show how your plan differs from the past or stop pretending you're some genius who sees the solution no one else can.
Don't ignore the consequences of your suggestion.
Regions controlled by Russia have mass graves, children tortured, raped, women dismembered, men executed, and homes destroyed. If you're OK with that, own it.
The idea that it's Ukraine that needs to be "peaceful" drips with privilege, arrogance, and ignorance.
BOTTOM LINE 👉
If you have a viable plan, please share it because all war eventually ends in negotiation. Just don't pretend people who point out problems, if your plan is poor, are pro-war. We're anti-genocide. You should be too.
