The absolute best way to make a podcast profitable is podcast ad free premium subscribers.
I’ve been looking into using @Supercast to power a private ad free podcast feed for my podcast for years. Never kicked it off because… (being absolutely vulnerable) I’m afraid no one will sign up.
How many podcasts do you listen to that you love and have never contributed to the show… I know I’m guilty of it. Only podcast I’ve contributed to is Startup Podcast back in the day and recently to the musician Ren’s Twitch feed.
That fear of no one signing up has halted me from ever trying to put myself out there to see what would happen. So afraid of looming rejecting failure. Like throwing a party no one shows up for.
2023 is the year of FK it and experiment. It’s the year to take my ego out of things as much as possible and just lead and lean into being the loving artist that I am.
Terrifying, but I’m sure by years end I’ll feel so much more fulfilled rather than the agony of chasing perfection. An empowering conversation yesterday with @IssaKhari helped me a lot to embrace the artist I am. (thank you)
Sooooo my question for you… do you pay/donate to any podcasts?
If you contribute to podcasts, what inspired you to take that leap. Did they have some cool feature you wanted. Like when I paid for the Startup Podcast it came with a tee. And if you haven’t contributed to your fave show, why’d you decide it’s not that important to you.
Would be so helpful to hear your perspective on why you do or don’t contribute to podcasts (and YouTube channels).
