EOS launched the EOS EVM chain.
It offers $EOS performance with the resources of the Ethereum community.
EOS EVM claims to be 25x faster than AVAX and 3x faster than Solana or Polygon.
A reminder: $EOS raised $4.2B USD in its ICO – the largest token sale ever!
It promised to build a more scalable and efficient blockchain than Ethereum.
But it lost badly to Ethereum.
TVL stands at just $124M USD.
The EOS Network Foundation hopes to turn things around with EOS EVM.
It's "designed to be the most performant and compatible EVM on the market" offering:
• 1-second block intervals
• Low gas fees ($0.01 USD)
• Support for 800+ swaps per second
EOS native is written in C++, but EOS EVM now allows Solidity developers to easily port dApps to EOS.
You can add EOS EVM RPC to Metamask and use as any other EVM network.
There's also an EOS native <> EOS EVM bridge.
But with so many Layer 2s that inherit security from Ethereum, will developers deploy on EOS EVM?
ENF is offering $35M+ for projects, but will it be enough to entice the community?
It will be interesting to follow their development.
Finally, check out my previous thread to understand the full story of how EOS ended up where it is 👇
The thread was one of the most fun I've ever written.
