Obscure exploit empties wallets of crypto veterans.
The mechanics are unknown, but I've seen millions of dollars lost due to avoidable human mistakes.
Stay safe!
Here are my 5 habit-related tips, learned from personal experience 🕵️♂️
I bet you've read this advice a million times:
• Double-checking addresses
• Opening links cautiously
• Not screenshotting seed phrases
• Using hardware wallets
Well-intentioned advice, but human error remains an issue.
I've built my own system to minimize mistakes.
1️⃣ Avoid transactions when tired.
Simple advice, yet often overlooked.
Once, fatigue led me to FOMO into a token with 10x more than intended—didn't notice the extra 0!
Stay alert to make better decisions.
2️⃣ Avoid transactions when busy or rushed.
Ever sent a payment while late for a meeting?
I once sent 1 ETH to a wrong address because I was short on time. Someone got lucky!
Lesson: Take your time with transactions.
3️⃣ Add steps to transactions.
A weird one, I know.
For example, hardware wallets boost seed-phrase security AND introduce extra confirmation steps.
More time to think = fewer costly mistakes.
You can also create a multi-sig wallet to make your life harder & safer.
4️⃣ Choose a place and time to execute transactions.
I only make long-term token buys once a week, at home.
Always in the morning when I'm well-rested and not in a rush.
Avoid buying crypto in public or where you feel uncomfortable.
5️⃣ Prepare for slip-ups.
Previous four tips work if followed.
The fifth advice is for times you don't.
Split your assets between a few wallets.
I also have a mobile hot wallet with some $$$ for FOMO buys & fun.
Enough to satisfy degen cravings.
In the end, keep your strategy simple to prevent human error.
Because consistent habits require simplicity to stick.
Hope you stay safe while the reasons behind the recent wallet drain exploits are solved.
