🧵 1/9 Token Price Vs. Development Activity
I think some might be missing the mark and correlate price with how successful an ecosystem is. But TVL is the demand and developers are the supply.
A thread on activity first, price later. #defi#blockchains
🧵 2/9 Companies are not investing with crypto, they are investing with cash into blockchain technology.
Despite the price of Ethereum, it is still in the lead with developer activity. (source: a16zcrypto.com/state-of-crypto-report-a16z-2022/)
🧵 3/9 You Can't Live in a House that isn't Built.
We are still early, and everything is currently in its building stages. We won't always see the price correlate with the activity until the houses are built and the value is placed within these ecosystems.
🧵 4/9 Focus on Data to Make Decisions
I see a lot of maxis argue over price, value, and network stability, but none of those change the facts regarding the volume of development activity. When examining these chains we have to examine what is being built.
🧵 5/9 Ethereum. Despite the price of ETH, we see an increase in development activity. #ETH (these are metrics based on GitHub data)
🧵 6/9 Polygon. It is no surprise that polygon has shown an increase in development activity this year. #MATIC (these are metrics based on GitHub data)
🧵 7/9 Solana. Solana is currently showing a small uptick in development activity, but it has been on a decline. #SOL (these are metrics based on GitHub data)
🧵 7/9 Comparing Development Activity to other Networks.
As of July 11th, Cardano and Ethereum have the highest amount of development activity. However, all of these networks are currently fluctuating with activity. (these are metrics based on GitHub data)
🧵 8/9 When researching chains, look beyond their price value alone. Look at what is being built and learn the potential value of those projects once they are complete in order to have a better picture of their future.
A low price can sometimes mean unrecognized value.
🧵 9/9 There are several other metrics and networks I did not add to this thread to keep things less cluttered.
I encourage looking into all of the top-rated networks and comparing their data.
