🧵NEW from the Lithuanian #KGB archive: My translation ⬇️ "A List of Questions for the Conversation with the Wife of a Candidate for the KGB" 1. Where and how did they meet? How long did they see each other before getting married? What motivated her to marry?
2. What does she like about her husband? In her opinion, what are his strengths and weaknesses? What should he pay attention to? Her husband's attitude toward smoking, drinking; behavior after drinking.
3. The relations of her husband, his friends, his milieu. Does she know in what kind of environment he grew up, his hobbies, interests, political opinions?
4. How do they build their family relationship, who is the head of the family? 5. What assistance does her husband provide to her in home matters, in raising children?
6. The attitude of her parents to her husband and her attitude to his parents. Satisfaction with the financial situation, salary, housing.
7. Was any of her or her husband's relatives criminally prosecuted, left the country (in what role), corresponds with people in capitalist countries?
8. The reasons (causes, motivations) for her husband's desire to serve in state security (become an officer). 9. Her attitude toward the KGB, her understanding of its functions and tasks, sources of information for that.
10. The state of her and her husband's health, relatives' health, did any of them suffer from mental or hereditary disorders, were there any suicides in the family?
11. The readiness of her and her husband to move for a job in any region of the Soviet Union [the last 3 words underlined].
12. After the conversation with the wife, it is recommended to visit the family at their home and include one's opinion (impressions from the visit) in the report of the conversation.
