Octa.Space: A New Exploration in Cloud Computing

Recently, I switched my @iPolloMiner from #ETC to mine @octa_space . This has been quite an exploration as #OctaSpace is a cloud platform designed for distributed computing, data storage & serving, VPN services, and more. twitter.com/Bokiko_io/status/1662936496838459394

$OCTA is the currency of #OctaSpace, serving as payment for services, rewards to node owners & dividends for #OCTA holders. The platform has a finite monetary policy to maintain stable inflation, consisting of 'eras' with set durations & coin supply.

#Octa uses ETHash algorithm, meaning it can be mined via ASICs and GPUs. This memory-intensive algo might not be optimal for summer mining. On vipor.net, I mined with 2 x iPollo V1 Mini SE Plus achieving ~800 MH/s total. Daily yield averaged at 12-13 OCTA.

Though mining rewards have dipped in the past 3 days due to hash distribution to other pools, it signifies increasing decentralization—a positive sign for any network.

#octa boasts a modest market cap of $2.8M. It maintains an average block time of 12.7 sec, with a 3 OCTA block reward. Circulating Supply: 17.69M. Octa can be traded on TXbit (octa/USDT pair), txbit.io/Trade/OCTA/USDT

Some observations: #Octa's website is well-built but has room for improvement. The Medium page isn't active & website links aren't always functioning. The roadmap seems broad & lacking dates. Using the console requires Gmail registration and the market place is not easy to use.

in sum, mining #Octa, a low-cap coin with a bold roadmap goals, harks back to early ETH days. While it has a known team, it remains to be seen if their ambitious goals can be met. i ll keep mining it with my asics!
