the typical #gamblefi consist of gov/yield tokens, LP and simple games (logic based mostly) for people to participate in.

 A typical smart contract involves a set of odds for the house and odds for the various outcomes of the games with the proceeds bearing yield

I am thinking of a possible utility of NFT  for playing card games

Not sure how feasible it will be, but I am pretty sure most people do dabble in poker , blackjack even on web2 gaming. This interface should ring some bells

Am thinking of how each game will work like a mini pool instead of using a LP backend + simple html 5 frontend.

Yes it works, but games can be compromised and it will never be high stakes.

NFT is a easy solution to combat cheating, distribute liquidity

-minted cards will form a deck = subpool
-52 NFTs to be minted by participants
 ( so only 4, 13 participants ,including house )
-players then proceed to pick game of choice
( Game API library that will use the unique hash of nft/pool to render)

-pool valuation base of nft buy in (house have to mint too)
-pool then equally divide value into 52 NFT
-winnings then distributed to winners via NFT
-each nft unique to unique smol pool

Feel free to take this idea and build at no cost or monetary benefits. Playing cards are easily an international icon and many games can be played with it. I had this random idea while pooping, maybe its too complex for builders to create now, but is the concept feasible ?

Innovative NFT Use Case for Card Games in #Gamblefi Industry

History is repeating itself in a way. It is surreal in way.
Insane APR LP farms, gov token airdrops, extreme bulls vs bears. So many liquid products,1 month before a potential bombshell of ETH over supply. How degen are these product users, will it be like defi summer again

lads with x10 leverage, using borrowed liquidity. Then his collateral dives 15% due to supply shock. Up comes a cascading freefall of liquidation. Collateral dives down even more. As a game theory enjoyer, this scenario somehow resonates with my past experience in DeFi summer. 

Of course we dont want such events to occur, as it will bring red candles to everybody portfolios. (Shorts well positioned will be overjoyed of course ) We must know that all that use ETH is not necessary a worshipper of ETH.  I do not have to love the product to use it.

April is the stage, the preparations for your own narrative starts today.  Which side are you on, what is your gut telling you. Geopolitics, Chinese sudden participation in CT 2023, how will it all play out? It is time to pick a narrative and let the games begin. 

I have bookmarked some threads that I feel will are major chess pieces in this upcoming scenario. The possibility of a smooth sailing shanghai upgrade with no FUD is also possible on the cards. Will write a more extensive thread when the date draws near. 

Prepping the Chess Pieces 

Today I was trying out a free mint, which led to me trying a web3 metaverse project (game). Simple as it may sound, I was caught in a moment of thought as I proceeded to sign the login msg on my ledger. It was just as the login process as seen in the anime      "King's Avatar"

For context, the anime plots follows Ye Qiu, a top-tier pro-player in the MMORPG Glory is forced to retire. When Glory's 10th server launches, Ye Qiu reenters the game under a new character with 10 years of experience and self-made weapons, and his return aims for the summit.

This has also led me to the iconic first scene where Ye Qiu was forced by his organization to return his character card (keys/ledger). Ultimately, this rendered me to think that would never happen in a truly decentralized environment, where the code is the law.

Who else remember the good ol arcade days.  SEGA with their card dispensing machines that records all your progress in a physical fungible form. People used to bet their cards in high level arcade races as a colleterial tokens. Each card was unique but yet not on a blockchain 4/X

So where are we currently at now? We have yet to see a popular NFT gamefi. Actual gamers absolutely detest  any form of blockchain to taint their games due to the shady nature of NFT (to the global public). The concept of it being on ledger seem to a useless feature.

We are still very early and taking very slow steps. Most NFT projects are out there just to earn a quick bag. Utility in popular projects come in the form of being exclusive to a community, extra perks/gifts irl or gaining special access to certain platforms and tools.


Gamefi mostly still exist in its infant stages. Games that exist with NFT are not fun, and attract players with a lure of yield farming in game. Even AAA studios are suffering from their recent lack of innovation. Why would the masses look to GameFi 7/X

What if someone makes a seamless product that can latch in these gaming ecosystems, and standardized it .Just like how we can use a physical trezor/ledger , native desktop wallet frame, or popular hot wallets like rabby, metamask. The key difference between in blockchain used 8/X

Maybe a product that seamlessly introduce blockchain to gaming  not in the finance portion but administrative process. This can combat popular gaming issues such as RMT and botting which has always been the bane of MMORPG communities. Perhaps starting with the login interface.

I do understand that major gaming platforms want to remain in control of the royalties and sales within their platform. However, there is no financial lure to changing a login interface, and the sudden change to web3 login would appeal to some individual as a unnecessary one.

Everybody has to start with their crawls, before we walk, and then sprinting and jumping. Blockchains should aim to fix current web2 problems on current gaming issues to lure its utility use case instead of trying to force a utility on exisiting products.

Has any chains exist to solve modern gaming issues such as cheating (banning without using hardware root access) , RMT and botting. Which chain do you think is capable to support current gaming traffic (account management, login api) and best support it?

A platform currently that is current trying to make a gamefi platform  has introduced familiar features from web2 gaming platforms with the use of game tags and a integrated marketplace. What if @TroveByTreasure one day manage to integrate steam/blizzard/xbox login APIs?

TLDR: Why Gamefi bad ? Blockchains to focus on current gaming issues, not force current nft ponzi on existing infra. Finance part can come after basic problems in web 2 gaming are solved. Win masses by solving problems that can never be weeded out. Integrate finance part after.

Musings of GameFi

Naturally there is an influx of new Chinese/HK people getting all positive and riled up about  new tech. Aside from the veterans, I fear many have not understood or benchmark their own risk appetites.  I am still all for a bull market, but how many  小蝦米 will remain next crash.

There is money to be made ,sure. But everybody has a different agenda in this space, which varies their risks appetites. How many of you out here will stop at a 10x gains. How will you react if the space is spamming 100x. Will you get the 10x and get out, or will you stay.

We are started in this space, lured by the lucrative gains we see online and hear from friends irl. You get yourself involve in it, and as the saying goes, "Everybody is a genius in a bull market". You start making a few quick bucks and viola. That sweet sweet green delta 🔼

Naturally knowing the scale of the East, everything seems amplified greatly for the good and for bad. This applies to both the pros and cons ; 1 mega positive trait I have highlighted many times is their absolute lack of tribalism in their current state ( hope it retains )

Been scrolling chinese CT, and the tldr is it felt like a condensed 2020-2021 capsule all over again. L1/L2 narratives + NFT airdrops all over the space. People hosting space on twitter to chat& share about projects positively. Key difference being less autism, more practicality.

Such community traits (non alpha related) can be seen in Justin Sun's recent post on his Chinese account. He posted 2 pictures to HK to chase the #chinesecoin narrative, attempt to win the chinese masses that backfired. https://twitter.com/BitRunX/status/1627895845751525376?s=20

He was caught red headed for posting an old picture by several community members which led to them being blocked. This led to a slight uproar in Chinese CT space where Justin Sun was ridiculed and mocked. https://twitter.com/BitRunX/status/1627902583603097600?s=20

People are practical and quick to assert judgements.That is the core of eastern culture ( I am not mainlander ), but I do observed several traits that are very similar to what I have learnt growing up. It is like getting cancelled in the west, except people are less woke about it

The correlation of the community culture and potential greater backlash from Chinese CT is what a truly fear. With Deng's famous saying "Black or white cat, As long as it catches mice, it is a good cat"What if that cat cease to function 1 day? I fear not for the Vets in the space

but for the newbies brought along this current wave. Many of them 小蝦米 (shrimp: term used to refer to common folk) are generally new to the space, but not foreign to risk. They take profits (from what I observe so far) and dont marry their bags.But that is what I have perceived

and not what I have actually observe (until the next crash). With the current community traits, there will be less CN bag holders as people will cut losses due to their practical nature. Meanwhile in general CT, crash after crash people still marry their coins/bag

Few learn from their mistakes, and treat the space as a casino. On the other hand, some learnt to build and stack their wealth layer by layer and eventually accumulating into 1 BTC ( the ultimate end game for one starting from nothing/just airdrops)

$blur has been a good example thus far. Its all about selling the news to pump and dump. Who are the bag holders? Chinese CT were farming it, but I dont see many defending the bags. In fact they understood the game theory nature of the airdrops. I believe many took profit.

Many of them are watching arbitrum. It is the new pvp arena where the biggest winners and losers will take place in. Just imagine a typical CT autist spawning in as a lvl 1 and grind up, but the average Chinese CT lad spawns as a lvl 15 geared with wooden weapons, this is the pvp

2023 is the year I have decided to stop lurking and start to interact on twitter. In fact I only joined #twitter in 2021 mainly to follow. I am just penning my thoughts here and reflecting on what has happened for the past 8 years for me personally in Crypto.     🧵1/X

Have absolutely no idea how much I need to write. Who knows if these stuff will get read or just fade into the space as kilobytes. Since the start of the year, I have decided to open up more in this space to share my experiences or even thoughts. To whomever it may help or learn.

Hopefully this might reach out to those learning and simply lurking, just as what I had been doing prior to posting.  I first joined twitter in 2021 simply to follow updates on blockchains and new protocols/fi updates in CT. It was usually discord since I was more accustomed to.

Found twitter to be an echo chamber initially,didnt understand why twitter was popular either.I had the chance to use twitter on day #1 but I have never joined since the perception of twitter was always anointed with negativity. Eventually joined since I want to get 🔔 for CT

Enabling notifications on discord  would be disastrous with the constant pings. Thanks for reading thus far, and I greatly appreciate it. A bit about me, I joined Crypto back in '16 as a student. Bought some via a CEX hot wallet . (It is still up today )

and started my learning journey in this space. Had my fair share of fomo/diamond/paper hands moment. All this has contributed to my convictions or gut feeling I have to this date. Basically went from hot wallet CEX newbie to yield farmer + conservative investment strategies.

I come from a family with strong influence in tradfi investment. It was heavily emphasized & a necessary skill set, but extremely boring. (Eventually the entire wallstreetbets moment brought me back to it lol). To date I own a 🧺of conservative products as well as crypto (40%)

I plan to get into Real asset as well, by seeking alpha in CT. Let's be real. We all stack $BTC /$ETH only for wealth accumulation. I am not the biggest believer of ETH either but I still bet against myself so far. You dont need to marry a coin to invest or farm alpha from it.

A bet against yourself is always a good hedge and litmus test of convictions. You can learn all the TA/fundamentals but the market will swing either way. The only constant has always been market psychology and the human response/behavior to money. Greed is in all of us

Also, I skipped the NFT hype back then as I have always thought monetary jpegs to be a laughable notion. I still do not go all into NFT as it is still a very high-risk environment. I am still learning daily and consistently adapting to the markets

I will be writing more in the days to come and a follow up🧵if this gets traction. It will be Crypto related, and I wont be giving financial advice. I can enable you with the tools for DYOR and share my sentiments of the market and game-theory wise.

Been seeing the Chinese CT narrative thrown all around. So here is a short guide on how to participate in Chinese CT with ease. Will list down some tools to help you  Laowais hop into it with relatively ease. Highly recommended  to make an alt to engage the algo in full swing 1/X

2/X    Ok  老外s (laowais) Mandatory extension here. Understand that browser comes with a default translation option and convenient translate tweet. But can it do this? So please, get Google translate chrome extension

3/X Optional.  Why fresh account you might ask? Unless you are okay with your current feed being a mash or Frankenstein of narratives. Not forgetting you will be getting double noise as well. I personally prefer it separated so I can dwell in each sphere and remain in open focus.

4/X Many speak of 100x or it being just a fluke and simply want a reason to ape. Metrics don't lie, and that is -- people are on this hype train. You lose nothing for trying to venture into a new ecosystem, you might learn a new language if not.

5/X What is different? Cultural approach is different. You see less tribalism/maxis. People like anything that makes money or sells.Practicality is what separate east from west .It is common to see a trove of coins in a typical bio. Something a western maxi might find revolting

7/X Translation tools are pretty limited. The concept of eastern languages are more difficult to translate in chunks. The use of short hands will break translation tools as well.  It is recommended to translate nouns/verbs separately especially if you are really new.

8/X Translating screenshots. Do recommend ranslate.yandex.com/ocr To proof my case of this tool on the horrible translation example above.  You can also transcribe the text to aid in your post/conversation.Been using this for other eastern languages as well (JP/KR)fairly accurate

9/X The shorthands will be a trouble to translate since its the internet. The Vocabulary will consistently change as much as the words use in CT.  Learning pinyin is a great start but you wont be able to communicate with TW/HK peeps since they use a different writing method.
