The Census Bureau @uscensusbureau announced the August advance report on the US orders, shipments, and inventories of durable goods.
The new orders dropped 2nd consecutive month by -0.2% or $0.6 billion m/m, to $272.7 billion.
Excluding defense that drop would have been -0.9%.
Shipments of manufactured durable goods in August increased $2.0 billion or 0.7% to $272.1 billion. Followed a 0.2% July increase. They were up 15 of the last 16 months.

Inventories of manufactured durable goods in August, up 19 consecutive months, increased $1.0 billion or 0.2% to $487.2 billion.

Unfilled orders for manufactured durable goods in August, up 24 consecutive months, increased $5.4 billion or 0.5% to $1,132.2 billion.
