NFTs Impact on SaaS

I wanted to explore the intersection of two of my passions today - delivering exceptional SaaS experiences to consumer or enterprise problems & NFTs. Strap in b/c today we're exploring in a 🧵, different ways in which B2B & B2C SaaS companies will utilize NFTs. More 👇

Digital Ownership & Licensing: NFTs can replace current licensing contracts for products & services with the additional benefits of verifiable ownership and authenticity of products/services & their transaction history. IP licensing will also be revolutionized due to NFTs.

Subscription Plan Marketplaces: Tiered NFTs can represent access to subscription plans and/or premium features. Since NFTs are tradable it creates an interesting dynamic where the market performs price discovery for SaaS products & services directly based on evolving needs!

Authenticating Exclusive Access: Companies can token-gate (restrict access based on a NFT collection or certain features within a collection) a certain product collection or enable features & services based on NFT ownership. Authenticity is guaranteed against the blockchain.

Customer Loyalty Programs: As seen by the recent launch of @Starbucks Odyssey, @Nike .swoosh, & other programs the future of the customer loyalty program is NFTs. These can be used to reward a brand's superfans or incentivize/gamify consumer behavior.

Marketing: Wallets are the new "cookie" tech in web3, except they enable orgs to segment & target user purchasing history in real time. Apps could encode user metadata as an NFT governed by a smart contract that enforces royalties - h/t @ttunguz for his thoughts on the topic!

Fundraising: NFTs are the new kickstarter! SaaS orgs can build communities around their value prop & get indvls who believe in the vision to contribute to a fundraise through mint & secondary sales of NFTs that represent access to those communities or open source projects.
