Has "verbosity" ever plagued you as a content writer? If you are a new content writer, you may be unfamiliar with verbosity, but trust me, it has the biggest impact on your writing.
Simply put, Verbosity is the excessive use of words in a sentence. It can be caused by a number of factors, including : - Lack of editing, - Attempt to sound smart, or simply - Lack of knowing when to stop
In any case, excessive verbosity can make your writing difficult to read and understand. What's the use of putting words on a page if they don't say anything? If you want to get your point across, you need to learn how to remove verbosity from your content.
Here's how you do it: 1. Remove any superfluous words from your content to improve readability. 2. Edit your content for conciseness. You can make your sentences shorter and more concise by removing unnecessary words and phrases.
3. Avoid using multiple adjectives or adverbs to describe a single thing, and use an active voice instead of a passive voice whenever possible. 4. Break up your thoughts into shorter, simpler, easier-to-read chunks. This makes your writing easier to read and understand.
