Related to this, I explained earlier this year how EcoHealth Alliance got funded via private foundations and private donors to keep working in South East Asia, as soon as Daszak's R01 grant was interrupted (Wallace Research Foundation, Freeman Charitable Trust, Whitehead Foundation, etc).
With the added benefits of no reporting required and no federal regulation attached to private funding.
