In Ukraine, the tech community is known for its innovation, talent, and global impact.
But since Russia’s full-scale invasion, many IT professionals like myself have traded their keyboards for rifles to defend their homeland.
I suggest you have a deeper look at @doucommunity project "Memorial" which honors those who made the ultimate sacrifice. It tells the stories of tech specialists who fought not just for their future but for the future of Ukraine.

Eternal glory and memory to Yana, 30-years old Recruitment Team Lead, who was killed by Russian Forces in Bakhmut 2023.
She was a combat medic with 93rd Brigade. On March 3, 2023, she was killed during the evacuation of wounded soldiers near Bakhmut. Everyone misses her.
People like Yana - from my professional circle - are the inspiration and a very sad sign at the same time.
Her story tells me that we are fighting the hardest, with all our mental capacity, and sadly losing the best among us.
Her bravery and selflessness continue to inspire.
Anton Harbuz, a Project Manager in IT and Platoon Commander of the 'Berlingo' assault battalion.
Anton selflessly joined Ukraine's Defense on the first day of the full-scale invasion. Tragically, he was also killed in the battle of Bakhmut by Russian Forces.
Hero.
This hits home very closely too. I didn't know but Yevheniia Bazylevych was SEO specialist in local firm here in Lviv.
Almost entire family was killed in precise Russian strike on the city of Lviv, on their apartment, 1000km from the frontline.
I suggest more people read and learn about Ukrainian IT people fighting for their homes and their families, their future.
This should be interesting for global tech community we were a part of, we still are. Ukraine's IT people are being killed by Russia
