Much like ECDSA, (some variants of) Schnorr support pubkey recovery!
In fact, Schnorr's pubkey recovery is better than ECDSA's: no need for recovery IDs!
So, beyond the obvious backwards-compatibility reasons, why ever use ECDSA?
(Plus, ECDSA has so many other shortcomings.)
