Typefully is fantastic and way too cheap for what you get.
We’ve tried many alternatives at @framer but nothing beats it. If you’re still tweeting from Twitter you’re wasting time.

This is insane! #golf
If this 🧵thread🧵 doesn't highlight how good we ALL have to be at this game, I don't know what will.

Here we see a square clubface with an iron. With a square path, this would go straight
See more 👇👇
Now we see a face that is just 1 deg closed (left image)
At 170 yards with a 7 iron, this would go about 5-6 yards left (with the same club path), as shown on the map with the yellow line.
You'll hit most greens with this.
Now we see a face thats just 2 deg closed.
This would produce close to a tour-proximity from 170 with a 7 iron, going around 11-12 yards left.
You'll start to miss a few greens with this - especially if attacking pins.
Here we see a face that's 3 deg closed.
at 170, all else being equal, this ball will miss around 18 yards left.
You're going to miss quite a few greens now.
To highlight this craziness
left pic shows the 1 deg closed face, resulting in a decent look at birdie.
right pic shows a ball that's going to be a penalty drop and tough up and down.
In terms of strokes gained (for above scenario), there's maybe 1.5 shots diff between these
What about driver?
It gets worse!
This shows a golf driver with a square face
What happens when we leave the face just 1 deg open at 250 yards?
You're probably good for most reasonable sized fairways. Around 13 yards right
2 degrees open may go closer to 26 yards off line.
Now we're in trouble if you didn't take a safe line.
This is going to miss most fairways, but probably be findable
Leave it 3 degrees open and you're probably worried about finding your ball - around 40 yards off line.
At 4 degrees open, you're probably going to need some golf insurance :)
over 50 yards off line by this point.
With that said, look at the difference between the 1 degree open fairway finder (left), and the 3 degree open tree-seeking missile (right)
For most people this is barely visible. Yet we are required to swing this object around our head (where we can't even see it) at 100mph+
Some takeaways from this
🟢cut yourself some slack after a bad shot
🟢you probably don't need a big change to fix a bad shot
🟢use a safe strategy. It doesn't require a big error to cost you big
