What if we could do things in #golf that made the game easier.
Things that meant we could get better results with less skill.
I call this, mechanical consistenct - and this thread below discusses it

An analogy for "mechanical consistency" would be using a bigger vs a smaller hammer
It's much easier to hit the nail with the bigger head. It requires less skill/coordination
You can make more of a movement mistake before there is an outcome mistake
What's the golf equivalent?
This image shows a player with a low point that's behind the ball.
They're clipping the ball off the grass, hitting slightly on the upswing. They're able to hit ok shots doing this.
However.....
A small drop in height (arc depth) means that their club contacts the ground significantly behind the ball.
This small mistake leads them to laying the sod over the ball, and likely another shot from the same place
Now we see a pro-contact. Ball then turf.
the low point of the swing arc (black line) is in front of the ball
If this player has the same error as the first player and drops X amount lower, their ground contact doesn't shift back anywhere near as much.
so, same error, but better results from the second player.
If you want to learn more about ways to
โ increase margin for error
โ reduce errors quickly
โ improve overall performance and consistency
