Typefully is fantastic and way too cheap for what you get.
Weโve tried many alternatives at @framer but nothing beats it. If youโre still tweeting from Twitter youโre wasting time.

โ๏ธ๐ #Avalanche Banff 1 is out: github.com/ava-labs/avalanchego/releases/tag/v1.9.1 โโท๏ธ
This version (v1.9.1) is backwards compatible to v1.9.0. It is optional but recommended.
๐ Release Focus: VM2 (VM<>VM Communication) and OpenTelemetry Tracing
1/ ๐ง PROTOCOL COMPATIBILITY NOTICE ๐ง
โ VM Interface
โ State Sync
AvalancheGo@v1.9.1 requires VM@v18 to support VM2. You will need to update any Custom VMs you are running to use this new version (subnet-evm, spacesvm, blobvm, and timestampvm releases are coming shortly).
2/ VM2: Connecting VMs to Each Other
When writing your own VM, you can now use "SendCrossChainAppRequest" and "SendCrossChainAppResponse" to send messages between VMs running on your AvalancheGo node.
3/ Specifically, VM2 allows you to send a message to a VM at a ChainID and for the VM at that ChainID to respond (if it understands the message).
Running a Subnet and want to perform an action when something happens on the C-Chain? Just have your VM ask the C-Chain directly ๐
4/ The messages sent over VM2 can be ANYTHING (all the VM provides is raw bytes).
You could send a fully formed transaction or even an RPC request to another VM. All that matters is that both the sending and receiving VM agree on the format of messages to send to each other.
5/ In the near future, we'll be shipping some Subnet examples that use VM2 to interact with the Primary Network.
Imagine if a Subnet could trustlessly mint you tokens if you burned some amount of tokens on Fuji ๐ค
6/ OpenTelemetry (opentelemetry.io/): Optimizing Everything
Banff 1 introduces initial support for OpenTelemetry, which allows for tracing function calls anywhere in AvalancheGo.
For those unaware, tracing is a useful approach for finding bottlenecks in complex software.
7/ For example, here is a trace of a message handled by AvalancheGo.
We can clearly measure how long each stage of processing takes and can work on reducing the most timely operations.
This sort of low-level tuning will make #Avalanche even faster and more reliable.
8/ Go Generics (go.dev/doc/tutorial/generics): Improving Code Performance and Readability
Lastly, v1.9.1 begins to make use of Golang's new Generics to remove sections of slow and error-prone interface casting.
Aside from being easier to read, Generics are also faster ๐ .
