I'd like to see a new tradition in America. One that might span over many days. All the leaders of different fields, industries, and government would come together to discuss/debate in a more freeform style — a round table. And the whole thing will be televised.

Currently, there is a lot of debate on social media sites like Twitter about free speech. Everyone's still trying to figure out where to draw the line. This is understandable as you want folks to feel safe, not targeted, and feel welcome to share their opinion on the matter.

Well, this is where things start to get tricky. I can't help but see that with true freedom of speech, someone or something is bound to be in the line of fire at some point. Comes with the nature of it. Can't have your cake and eat it too I guess. However,...


There seems to be this concern about the public being served lies, conspiracies, and hatred rather than truth. Things aren't being fact-checked. And, sometimes things are being labeled in a way to sway a person's perception. I see this happening for a few reasons...

1. Most people are in a bubble. Feedback with constant confirmation and no challenge. There's no proposal to think for yourself as your source has already invested too much. This bubble equips you with new arguments to support you and you're too afraid of being wrong.

2. The sources that spit out their narrative have the stage all to themselves. When someone is tuned in to that source, they're only hearing one side, one perspective (someone else's). That source is never challenged on the world stage. Always siloed. This is key.

3. The telephone game. People tune into their siloed source of their choosing and have their positions confirmed. They then go out into the world a regurgitate it on social media. Then others consume these perspectives, like getting your beliefs from a second hand store. You...

...might not have ever even thought critically about what it is you are consuming. But, it's reaffirming, so it must be good. This is dangerous.

Why not have a time of year, one week, where we hold a convention and everyone gets to hear directly from the very leaders of these fields, industries, and government themselves on a world stage. No room for given interpretation, skewed perspectives, or motives. Just...

...plain old discussion and debate. Your own interpretation, your perspective. Then we can discuss on Twitter or wherever afterwards. The important thing here is that we all saw it first together at the same time. It can also be something that we all share. I believe..

sharing that experience together can aid in talking about things afterwards as it's something we all, for a fact, will have in common. And that's always a great place to start.

A sort of UN meeting but for America to hash out our issues, discoveries, pain points, goals, shine a light on our victories, etc. A national holiday where focus is given to this round table for one week, or even a few days, from everyone. A very long shit, I know. One can dream.

That's it. Just thinking out loud. This isn't something well researched or anything, but it's based off of what I see. I don't think this gets fixed with social media. There's too much lost and it's not in real time. Can't be. If you've made it to the end, thank you! Be well.

Thinking of my dream holiday in America

I really wanna see the #FairTax Act take hold. I can't stand our current tax system. It's corrupt, overly complicated, time consuming, not transparent, and a waste of money — tax payer dollars.

First off, I think if more people knew about it, it would be a no brainer. A documentary covering the Fair Tax said that research shows that people with just a basic understanding of it overwhelmingly support it regardless of political affiliation.

The Fair Tax is simply a consumption tax. You are only taxed at the point of final sale, not production (your work). Mind you, this is different from the flat tax. It's leagues better. It's a revenue neutral tax meaning that it would bring in the same amount of money as today.

There's already an embedded tax of 22% in everything we buy. There'd hardly be a difference. Since there would be no payroll tax anymore, you keep 100% of the money you earn. The only time tax is collected is at the point of sale, meaning you control how much you pay in taxes.

Here are some of the benefits listed out:

- No more payroll tax
- IRS becomes obsolete and gets abolished along with all records on Americans
- Government would actually bring in more revenue
- States would bring in more money by collecting taxes for the federal gov't

- No more taxing used goods
- No more capital gains tax
- No more VAT
- No more estate tax
- No college or university tax — considered an investment
- Medicare doesn't get messed with
- Social Security doesn't get messed with
- Medicare & SS would be pulling from a stable pool


- Would have transparency with our tax system
- Would eliminate approx. 95% of the $1 trillion annual evasion
- That's the amount of money that the IRS says should be collected under our current system but in fact goes uncollected each year

- Gets rid of taxes on exports
- Applies taxes on imports
- Gets rid of loopholes that plagues our current tax system
- Is the most researched tax structure ever in history
- Naturally boosts the economy and would create jobs

- No more corporate tax
- No more gift tax
- No exemptions, exclusions, or deductions — but a simple and pure sales tax
- No more tax returns
- April 15th becomes just another beautiful Spring day!
