New Law Proposal: Employ Bounty Hunters to Track Illegal Immigrants, Pay $1,000 Per Deportation Missouri and Mississippi may hire bounty hunters, paying $1,000 per deportation, to aid ICE in tracking illegal immigrants. Attorney General Matthew Barton: “… think of it like crime stoppers on steroids, where you have a tip line where someone with you know worthwhile information can pass that along to law enforcement. It will be vetted, just like any other tip in any other crime category. If that information proves worthwhile, then authorities can authorize the detention of a certain individual and bounty hunters their license with the state, as well as peace officers, would be eligible to assist ICE in making these initial detainments and hold them until the federal government shows up to take over.” Missouri's SB 72 allows bond agents to catch illegal immigrants. Mississippi's HB 1484 lets certified bounty hunters assist ICE. @bartonforda @DavidGregoryMO
