NYC’s Mayor Adams blasts his own party, claiming they've lost touch with working-class struggles and calls for real justice system reform.
“No, the party left me and it left working-class people... the issues that everyday people that are in power talking about. People are concern about the future of their families. And that should be our focus… that's the focus of this administration.”
In September 2024, Mayor Adams faced federal charges for bribery, fraud, and illegal foreign donations, sparking skepticism.
Adams, the first NYC mayor charged in office, pleaded not guilty, claiming it's political retribution for criticizing the Biden-Harris administration's migrant crisis handling.
“It was painful. It was extremely painful to go through this, you know, millions of dollars in legal bills and just not being able to resign... this is the first time in my life that you have to sit here and be punched on and you have to allow your attorney to fight, to fight. I know how to fight and I like to fight to defend myself. And not being able to do that is hard as hell.”
