(1/16) We live in an era dominated by rapid technological progress. While I had my eyes on Ethereum, I almost completely missed the A.I. revolution. But fortunately, I found @LeonardoAi_. Let me show you how video game development is about to be radically transformed.
(2/16) My first internship was at @riotgames. I spent summer 2011 working on a ton of interesting stuff; I wrote a physics engine, I built a QA automation platform, and I rewrote the file format for some of the in-game assets. Let me tell you, there are A LOT of assets.
(3/16) These days I don't play much League, but it looks like theres ~140 champions and ~4800 skins (major cosmetic transformations for a champion). All I had to do was optimize some back-end tech stuff, I definitely didn't envy the art department. 4,800 different concepts!!!
(4/16) That's why I was so excited when @DoaneJameson showed me @LeonardoAi_... video game development is never going to be the same again! leonardo.ai/
(5/16) High level: super simple. ChatGPT for video game art. Under the hood: incredibly sophisticated A.I. Like above-my-pay-grade, what-is-a-neural-net, is-this-skynet level A.I. Don't take my word for it, time for screenshots.
(6/16) Let's say you're developing a fantasy-style game and need to generate a shield. Maybe your character has a complicated background with dragons. And so, we'll ask @LeonardoAi_ for "a dragon shield."
(7/16) 👍
(8/16) But maybe our warrior lives in world where the only real defense from dragons via magic, stored in gems. All you need to do is change the prompt, out pops a whole new set of shields.
(9/16) 👍
(10/16) Maybe the shield above caught your eye for another project you are working on... a project that's anime-style. Easy! Add the shield to the @LeonardoAi_ model, add some anime elements, and you've got new assets ready to go. MINUTES after you realized you wanted them.
(11/16) 👍
(12/16) I could go on and on about shields, but you get the idea. @LeonardoAi_ uses cutting-edge A.I. to allow game designers to generate huge amounts of incredibly diverse art, all by using plain-text prompting. 4,800 different skins doesn't sound unchallengeable anymore
(13/16) Using @LeonardoAi_ is super simple; the only concept you really need to understand are datasets. Leonardo uses a dataset as a foundation when it creates new, unique art.
(14/16) While @LeonardoAi_ comes with many fine-tuned models, you can easily build your own datasets. All a designer needs to do is gather up at least 15 (only 15!!!!!) images that look similarly, upload them to Leonardo, and let the master get to work.
(15/16) With @LeonardoAi_, the sky is the limit. Video game developers and other artists will be able to generate endless amounts of new, production-quality artwork. And, just maybe, Leonardo can help usher in a new era of interactive content...
(16/16) Because here's the thing, the picture you take of your best friend's nephew... that's an image, just like the image of the shield back in tweet 9. We can feed that photo into @LeonardoAi_. We can make him a video game character!
