David Cooley, the founder of these legendary venues, opened The Abbey in 1991 as a coffee shop which later blossomed into a top-notch bar, restaurant, and nightclub.
Cooley and Schukraft are both excited for this new phase, promising to continue the venues' rich history and contribution to the LGBTQ+ community while bringing fresh ideas to the table.
