An ancient kingdom in India, rich with culture and tradition, amidst serene beauty of the Western Ghats. The story takes place in a small village known for its devotion to Lord Krishna and his divine consort, Devi Rukmini.

Sakubai was a humble woman living on the outskirts of the village. Despite her poverty, she had a heart full of devotion. Known for her selfless nature, she spent her days caring for the sick and needy.

However, she faced immense hardships—her crops had failed, and her family was on the brink of starvation. Yet, every evening, she would light a lamp in front of her small shrine dedicated to Devi Rukmini, praying for strength and guidance.

One night, as Sakubai finished her prayers, she noticed a radiant light illuminated her shrine. In the glow stood Devi Rukmini, adorned in splendid velvet, her eyes filled with compassion. "Sakubai," she spoke softly, "your devotion and pure heart have reached me.
++
I am here to grant you a blessing." Sakubai fell to her knees, overwhelmed with joy and reverence. "O Devi, I am unworthy of your presence. Please forgive my shortcomings."
Devi Rukmini smiled gently and said, "It is through your trials that your strength is forged.
++
I will bless you with prosperity, but it is your love and compassion for others that must remain your guiding light." She placed her hands on Sakubai's head, and a warm glow enveloped her.
"You shall find abundance in your fields, and your kindness shall multiply tenfold." With that, the goddess vanished, leaving behind an ethereal fragrance of jasmine and the soft whispers of blessings.

The next morning, Sakubai awoke to a miracle. Her fields, once barren, were lush and teeming with ripe crops. The villagers gathered, astonished at the sight. She shared her fortune with her neighbors, organizing a grand feast to celebrate.

With each grain of rice served, Sakubai’s heart swelled with gratitude, recognizing that the true blessing lay not just in prosperity but in unity and love.
As weeks turned into months, Sakubai's generosity inspired the villagers. They began to help one another, forming a close-knit community that thrived together. Inspired by Sakubai’s example, they remembered the lessons of compassion imparted by Devi Rukmini.

The village became a sanctuary of support, where laughter and joy flourished in abundance. To honor Devi Rukmini, the villagers decided to hold a grand festival once a year. They decorated the village with flowers and lights.
