This fossil represents a new genus and species within the semi-aquatic phytosaur family. These creatures roamed the prehistoric Tethys Ocean's coastlines and lived on multiple continents.
Phytosaurs are the most primitive in the crocodile lineage, with the discovered fossil measuring 8.4 meters long, ranking among the largest globally. Other fossils were found in the Pranhita-Godavari basin, Telangana.
