Yet another depiction of a three-headed "Pasupati" or "Proto-Shiva" presenting a revolutionary reconciliation of Moon Synodic year with seasonal year. - Shiva sitting in Padmasana dons a horned crown marked by 13 lines and a circle on each side, symbolizing the lunar cycle from full moon to full moon across 28 nights. Compare this with Moon Alemna - On both the hands shiva bears 11 grooves implying that Shiva has deduced that Synodic year is short of the true seasonal year by 11 lunar days. (True year 371 tithis; synodic year 360 tithis, vide infra). Today in contemporary imagery, Shiva features a crescent moon nestled in his hair.
No the horns are not random there are more evidences. x.com/GemsOfINDOLOGY/status/1557913181137186816
