Being efficient & effective with our time is hard. Whether it's scrolling on autopilot or tumbling down rabbit holes, Twitter can be a time sink. And yet, it's so enormously helpful with #FantasyBaseball research & news. Some ways to organize, streamline and save time. ⚾️🧵👇
1. Utilize Lists Whether setup as private or public, creating Twitter Lists can help you streamline scrolling by grouping accounts by their specialty. For example, injuries, starting pitchers, bullpens, team news, favorite analysts, etc. Filter out the noise.
2. Organize Lists Once you have formed your Twitter Lists, then you can pin them to the top of your timeline. I like the way this looks especially on your phone as you can swipe easily between them. Now you can scroll with more intention.
3. Search Lists Need to search for player news or anything else specifically from one of your private or public lists, use this search string: [player name] list:[1234567890] (this is the Twitter List ID in the URL that you would input here) Search more strategically.
4. Curate Lists w/@mailbrew This was a game changer for me. Receive a newsletter style email giving you top links & best tweets from accounts in your Lists. I have this delivered daily for each List. You can also set this up for podcast feeds too! Stop the obsessive checking.
5. Don't Forget Advanced Searches Use Advanced Search where you can search by words, accounts, engagements and dates. You can shortcut this a little by typing in the search bar: [player name] or [search word] from: [username] Very powerful and overlooked feature.
6. It's Still a Balance Though it's great to be efficient & effective with our time, it's OK to explore sometimes. Every year there are fantastic new accounts in this Twitter Fantasy Baseball space that are contributing, and grateful when I find them. It's supposed to be fun.
TL/DR; Twitter Lists are a fantastic way to create a curated feed from certain accounts that post valuable content within their niche. 1. Utilize Lists 2. Organize Lists 3. Search Lists 4. Curate Lists w/@mailbrew 5. Don't Forget Advanced Searches 6. It's Still a Balance
