"We are a small software startup that has developed a software tool for determining if and where a leak has occurred in oil and water pipeline networks in real-time. We have also developed unique IP for optimizing the operations of pipeline networks in real-time.

The methodology/IP behind the leak detection and localization framework embedded in the back-end of the software that runs continuously in a loop is as follows: (i) the software receives pressure and flow measurement data from the actual pipeline network in the field;

(ii) a subset of this data is passed to a digital-twin of the pipeline network, which is able to generate a digital measurement; and (iii) a bespoke internal machine learning toolbox analyzes the two data sets to determine if and where a leak has occurred in the pipeline.

The digital twin utilized to simulate the pipeline network is based upon state-of-the-art IP that has been internally developed using a hybrid modeling approach that is both data-driven and physics-based.

We have also begun the development of a holistic end-to-end solution for the optimal flow management of pipeline systems. This tool uses the aforementioned hybrid modeling framework.

It directly embeds it into a dynamic optimization problem to allow for OPEX minimization, revenue maximization, throughput maximization, etc. of the pipeline system.

DueDilio presented the client with 8 proposals for their project. The fixed-fee estimates came in between $3,500 and $22,500. The proposals came from independent professionals and boutique firms. Several service providers have direct experience in oil & gas sector.
