The African Bitcoin Conference 2022 took place from December 5–7 in Accra, Ghana. It was the first #Bitcoin conference hosted on the continent by @AfroBitcoinOrg.
African Bitcoin Conference 2022 included keynote addresses, fireside chats, panel discussions, presentations, crash courses, and #Bitcoin focused workshops
Over 40 speakers were in attendance including @jack @raypaxful and a dynamic audience of other #Bitcoin ers, entrepreneurs, educators, investors, and industry leaders.
Day one commenced with an opening ceremony & welcome remark by @AfroBitcoinOrg. - @raypaxful CEO of @paxful , spoke in a fireside chat moderated by @Farida_N. Four panels of discussion were held throughout the day with topics as #Bitcoin is Money,
The Road to a Career in #Bitcoin, and Advancing Social Justice with #Bitcoin, among others, were discussed in-depth during #Afrobitcoin #ABC2022
Nii Quaynor, Ghanaian professor credited with building the first #Bitcoin ATM in Ghana gave the first keynote address to start DAY 2 of #Afribticoin #ABC2022

#Afrobitcoin @jackmallers founder of @Strike, gave the second keynote address of the day. He explained the concept of payment rails, and highlighted the challenges faced in cross-border payments as a result of differences in currency and payment systems. #Bitcoin
@Jack & @Farida_N had first fireside chat event of the day. Giving a brief history of how he got interested in distributed ledger technology and thanked the open-source community for the goodwill to put out work for free and make software development open. #Bitcoin
Day two of the #Afrobitcoin went on with more keynote addresses, fireside chats, and panel discussions. Topics of discussion include The Power of the Lightning Network, Bitcoin-Powered vs Traditional Payment Systems, and Bitcoin Mining in the Face of Climate Change, among others
