Fundamentals… often associated with offensive ball security but they don’t necessarily have to be
They are simply the details on how you do things
You can have offensive fundamentals, defensive fundamentals, transition fundamentals, etc.
Define them for your team in teaching points, and establish them as “the way we do things”
Example fundamentals include:
▪️We catch passes and rebound balls with two hands on two feet
▪️We SPRINT our first 3 steps in transition and then look back for the ball, every time
▪️We apply ball pressure at an arm’s length to opposing ball handlers
▪️We throw passes with two hands
Fundamentals DREAM OUTCOME:
Your program has 10-20 minor details spread around all the phases of the game that are consistently communicated. Your system is broken down to it’s key components and there is no push back executing in that specific way
