Introducing Gasless Approvals on CoW Swap

Cows can sometimes get a bad rap for their gas emissions... But CoW Swap is committed to reducing gas as much as possible. That's why we're pleased to announce that gasless approvals are now live on @CoWSwap.

Starting today, CoW Swap traders can approve tokens gasslessly, with a signed message, in the same flow as their swap. This applies to over 150 EIP-2612-integrated tokens that are currently tradable on CoW Swap. See the full list of permitted tokens here: hackmd.io/@mastercow/cowswap-gasless-approvals

Before the launch of gasless approvals, users could TRADE gaslessly, but they still had to pay gas for the approval transaction (in ETH) the first time they wanted to trade a new token.

With gasless approvals, users now sign a message (gas free!) that gives solvers permission to execute the approval transaction on their behalf. Solvers then bundle the approval with the swap, for a smoooooother, ETH-less experience.
