In Poland, an unknown military object with inscriptions in Russian was discovered
Regarding today's downing of a Russian MiG-31 fighter jet (t.me/ochen_zloy_chat/507455), clearly due to an engine fire.
This is a prime example of the technical state of Russian aviation and what the increased strain on end-of-life equipment leads to.
The MiG-31 fighters were produced from 1975 to 1994, meaning that the newest one is 28 years old. After the cessation of fighter production was gradually phased out and mass production of engines D-30F6.
Today, the Russian military industrial complex can only service and repair the MiG-31 and its components.
That is, the old engine, which has long since reached the end of its service life, is regularly overloaded with workload that it simply can't handle because it is completely worn out. What may be the result of such activities? A breakdown and some kind of sparkling incident.
I would like to point out that there have been officially confirmed 4 crashes of MiG-31 in Russia during 2022. And all 4 are not directly related to the war in Ukraine.
Nevertheless, this is a record of MiG-31 losses during the year, if we close our eyes to the fact that there may be unofficial losses which are not yet known.
Also, in December 2022, an engine fire of one of the MiG-31Ks carrying X-47M2 "Kynzhal" missiles was reported in Belarus.
Amusingly, the MiG-31 in the current war is the fighter that has been the least involved in combat operations, but which the ROVs keep losing.
Polish police and army counterintelligence specialists are working at the site. They will have to find out what kind of object it was and when exactly it fell on Polish territory, as locals have not reported any explosions.
Threatening summonses have begun to be sent out on the perimeter😁
The Rashkovan under-media published a summons stating that a 21-year-old conscript had to report to the military registration and enlistment office in the Vyborg district of St. Petersburg on the morning of 28 April "to undergo a medical examination".
At the bottom there is a stamp: "Attention! If you fail to show up at the military registration and enlistment office on time, restrictive measures will be imposed on you".
New mass graves have appeared in occupied Mariupol
New mass graves have been found in Mariupol thanks to updated Google map images. This was reported by an advisor to the city mayor Petro Andryushchenko.
"We have worked in detail the map of all cemeteries and found new sectors of mass graves in Novotroitsk cemetery," - said the official, adding that the sectors are visually larger than the mass graves in Vynogradne and Mangush.
Andryushchenko also said that the Novotroitskoye cemetery was closed until about the middle of July last year and under the control of the occupiers.
"Who was buried and in what period is now unknown. We will try to find out as far as possible," he said.
