There is room for everyone to make it in web3.
This is how I think I will carve out a niche for myself in the NFT space.
🧵
I just finished watching the new Netflix show "Tour de France Unchained".
I learned that cycling in the Tour De France is really a team sport.
Like all team sports you have superstars, but also supporters, team players.
On the TDF, these supporters are called "domestiques".
A domestique is an athlete who would, in any other race, be unbeatable.
But on the TDF they maybe don't have that extra 0.1% to win a stage.
Instead they can ensure the team wins by supporting the star cyclists.
In this way, they win when the team wins.
A domestique will grab the drinks and the snacks from the support cars and distribute these amongst the other cyclists in the race.
A domestique will give the stars their bicycle if there is a failure
A domestique will put in the work to allow the star to sprint to the finish
I learned all this while also writing on CT and it dawned on me;
I want to be a web3 domestique.
I want to be the support for the NFT founder and the project team.
I want to be the one who writes the mediums, who makes the memes, who makes the small pieces of art here and there.
I don't want to be the star.
I can't be on 5 spaces per day.
I don't want my twitter feed to descend into chaos.
But if I am the domestique, when the project wins, I also win.
