A special one for me - it was the 1st time I saw Beyoncé live! 🤩

I gagged when Mayor Carter rose out of the stage wearing this short dress/tall boot combo bc 🗣️THE BOOTS!

The hard black & soft red was a risk, but it gave one helluva reward!

Muva debuted the original mother-of-pearl print mini dress in Stockholm. The blue version stays in my mind, as does the slant cut of these boots!

David Koma reported that he SOLD OUT of the ready-to-wear design after Bey wore the custom!

Another major lewk no one talked about, but if you know Marine Serre, the history behind her moon print, & the astrology references made here, the whole ensemble makes sense.

I wanted more for Ivy Park, but this gave me what I needed!

Muva wearing her designs (& other black designers) to mark Juneteenth is a flex, but so is the versatility of having such a bold design worn two different ways!

Both Bey & I 🤍 Tiffany, so this design HAD to make my list.

Inspired by Peretti's Diamonds By The Yard, this dress stood out among the many Tiffany pieces she wore, from earrings to cuffs & even her diamond-encrusted earpiece.

🪩 @McQueen (Minneapolis/E Rutherford) F/W 16

It was an icon inception w/ Beyoncé wearing disco horse Reneigh in a design by McQueen!

You have to be of a certain stature to make referencing like this not look humorous, but the opening bodysuit & closing full sequin look soared!

🪩  Custom Iris Van Herpen (Amsterdam)

I never thought I'd see the day Beyoncé wore IVH, but Muva showed her range (& taste!) in this stunning silver opener that took 12 artisans 700+ hrs to make.

I hope it's not the last time we see her in something so special! 🪩

🪩 Custom ANREALAGE

This isn't a "look" per sé, but I had to give special attention to how cool this white hat & robe turned into a kaleidoscope of color under UV light.

The tech involved in RWT was incredible; it definitely set a trend for upcoming artists.

Jamee finds Web3 went wrong in structuring onboarding practices & recognizing the actual culture of the space.


For Draco, that lack continues to hold back opportunities to make real inroads toward acceptance & equality.

🔹 What is a DAO?

Though a complex concept w/ many use cases, at the base level, Ashley defines a DAO as "a chatroom w a bank account."

Encompassing types like Social, Impact, & Investment DAOs, they're essentially a group of people aligned with a purpose.


Though we know DAOs as vehicles for gaining financial capital, each is sustained by human coordination - people doing work.

Some work to build a treasury toward large financial goals (@ConstitutionDAO) & some work to provide social & community networking (@BoysClubCrypto).

🔹 What are the benefits of DAOs for black & brown communities?

Below, @ashmcai describes how economic coordination has already existed culturally but how the addition of blockchain enhances its function.

With her fav school subject being Government, Ashley has found alignment in models of human coordination for a long time.

While working at Blavity, she scored a spot in a VC pitch meeting that rocketed her into a move to Miami & many opportunities to create new DAO communities.

That education & experience has led her to understand DAOs at the structural, financial, & governance level.

But, combined with the blockchain, the philosophy behind DAOs is one of the most essential concepts to comprehend.

Some advice from our speakers to combat discrimination in the workplace:

· "Build your community, your network. Learn how to advocate for yourself. " - Jade

For all of our speakers, the need for community is vital.

A support system of tech professionals to learn from, ask questions, & share ideas makes a big difference in navigating an already tricky field.
