Soon @POKTnetwork will begin burning $POKT tokens.
Per the promises outlined by Pocket Network Inc. (PNI) and the our Foundation (PNF) in the forum announcement last week (forum.pokt.network/t/the-road-to-revenue-accelerating-progress-towards-our-north-star/4384/3?u=artsabintsev), I have just now remitted 193,923.35 POKT tokens to the DAO treasury for burning.
The amount came from the following calculation performed by @JackALaing, the Executive Director of the Foundation, using public data from @POKTscan.
Within the next 24 hours, @JackALaing will publish a proposal regarding the burn process and related parameter changes. Assuming no major objections from the community, the proposal will be put up for a vote on May 8th. If it passes the DAO vote, it will be adopted on May 15th.
As PNI will be remitting tokens to the DAO treasury every week, there will be three weeks' worth of tokens accumulated for burning. The tokens will be promptly burned at that point.
We will provide more updates as decisions are made, but all of us at PNI and PNF are very excited to begin executing this process.
